Brooke Sauer (left) is a high school science teacher at the Durham School of the Arts. She is funded by our National Science Foundation CAREER Award's Research Experience for Teachers program. Brooke is working on curriculum development through hands-on evolutionary principles modules. She is also performing collaborative research on the evolution of mantis shrimp sensory systems and ecology.
Casey Thompson (middle) is a high school student from Jordan High School and Anna Ruhta (right) is a Duke undergraduate from the Pratt Engineering School. Casey and Anna are funded by the Army Educational Outreach Program. They are working on the impulsive forces and mechanisms of trap-jaw ants.
